Effects of nano-bubbles on seed germination of muskmelon
Abstract
Nano-bubbles (NBs) have emerged as promising tools in agriculture, aquaculture, food processing, and wastewater treatment. This study explored the impact of air NBs on muskmelon seed germination. Distilled water was infused with NBs for durations of 10, 15, and 20 minutes, while untreated distilled water served as the control. Significant differences in seed germination rates were observed among the treatments. Growth parameters including stem height, root length, and leaf area were assessed 14 days post-treatment with NB-infused water. Although differences in dry weight among treatments were minimal, statistical analysis revealed their significance. The findings underscore the potential of air NBs in influencing seed germination processes and subsequent plant growth. This research contributes to understanding the application of NB technology in enhancing agricultural practices and may pave the way for further exploration in optimizing seed germination protocols and plant growth strategies.
